A rattlesnake transformed into a functional piece of EDC sculpture.

Instead of placing a snake motif on a conventional bead, this design uses the rattlesnake itself to form the entire structure. The body coils naturally around itself, creating both the silhouette of the bead and the opening for the paracord.

Every scale, curve and facial detail has been carefully sculpted to remain visible at this compact size. Deep recessed areas are darkened through an aged finish, while the raised scales and edges are lightly polished to reveal the natural character of the metal.

The result is a small piece of metal sculpture with the rugged, weathered character of an object that has been carried and handled for years.

Designed for knife lanyards, EDC gear, keychains, backpacks and custom carry setups.

The Design

The American rattlesnake has an unmistakable presence — compact, alert and powerful.

For this piece, I wanted to avoid simply carving a snake onto the surface of a bead. Instead, the snake becomes the bead.

Its body coils around itself to create a compact three-dimensional structure, while the natural space within the coil becomes the passage for the paracord.

Viewed from different angles, the shape continuously changes: the head, scales, curves of the body and coiled silhouette reveal different details as the piece moves in the hand.

It works as a functional knife lanyard bead, but it was designed first as a miniature metal sculpture.

Hand-Finished Aged Metal

Each Rattlesnake bead is individually finished and aged by hand.

Dark oxidation remains inside the recessed scales and deeper details, while selected raised areas are lightly polished by hand. This creates greater depth without making the metal excessively shiny.

Small differences in patina, polished highlights and darker recessed areas are a natural part of the hand-finishing process, making every piece slightly different.
