I am Songyan Han, a jewelry designer from Shanghai, China. In 2013, I founded Songyan Jewelry Studio, where I personally design and handcraft every piece. My journey into jewelry design stems from my background in fine arts and game design—I was an oil painter before spending eight years as a game designer at EA. While designing for video games was an exciting experience, I envisioned a new way to merge my artistic skills with craftsmanship: creating bold, intricate jewelry for those who appreciate powerful and expressive designs. This vision led me to establish my studio.

My work is inspired by strong, symbolic figures and creatures, including wild animals, skulls, and Asian folklore, which have become defining themes of my collections. Every detail matters—from precise lines to striking facial expressions—capturing a sense of power and masculinity in each piece. I work with high-quality materials such as 925 sterling silver, brass, copper, and precious gemstones, using techniques like lost-wax casting, oxidation, antique finishing, and meticulous polishing to ensure exceptional craftsmanship.

In 2018, I launched ShadowEDC, a brand dedicated to crafting paracord beads, knife beads, and lanyard beads for outdoor enthusiasts and knife collectors. Drawing inspiration from warriors, mythology, animals, and mortality, my designs aim to transform realism into a uniquely expressive form, bringing my artistic vision to life.

Each creation reflects my passion for storytelling through design, blending artistry with craftsmanship to produce jewelry that is both meaningful and visually striking.
